PART 01 WHAT IS AN ISO TANK?
An ISO TANK is a stainless steel pressure vessel built to international standards, housed within a robust external framework, designed for multimodal transport. The tank body typically uses 316 stainless steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature tolerance. Most tank containers come equipped with steam heating coils and inert gas protection systems; pressure relief devices are optional equipment to meet the transport and handling requirements of various fluids.

Smart Features:
-Steam Heating Coils (Prevent liquid solidification)
-Inert Gas Protection (Prevents oxidation & explosion)
-Triple Pressure Relief Valves (Safety redundancy design)
PART 02 SUITABLE CARGO TYPES
ISO TANKs are suitable for transporting the following products:
|
Category |
Representative Goods |
|
Food/Pharma |
Concentrated fruit juice, Pharmaceutical-grade whey, Vitamin E oil |
|
General Chemicals |
Transformer oil, Caprolactam, Lubricating oil |
|
危险品Dangerous Goods |
Class 3: Isopropyl alcohol; Class 5: Hydrogen peroxide; Class 8: Phosphorus oxychloride |
PART 03 CORE ADVANTAGES OF ISO TANK
1. Optimized Transportation Costs
A 20-foot ISO TANK increases payload capacity by approximately 45% compared to a drum-filled standard container, reducing per-unit sea/land freight costs while simultaneously saving on packaging procurement and disposal expenses.
2. Enhanced Operational Efficiency
Eliminates the drum-filling process and reduces cargo residue loss (average loss rate < 0.5%).
3. Safety & Regulatory Compliance
Leak probability < 0.001% (Based on IMDG statistics).
Complies with mandatory transport requirements for specific dangerous goods under EU ADR 2023 / US 49 CFR.
PART 04 EXPORT OPERATION PROCESS
-Tank Leasing
Select a tank container supplier and confirm the free usage period (7 days at origin port + 14 days at destination port). Choosing a tank owner with advantageous routes during leasing saves rental costs and ensures safe cargo transport operations.
-Booking
Submit: MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet), Tank Certificate (including UN number / Capacity / Tare weight), Dangerous Goods Packaging Certificate.
Note: Registration of the IoT (Internet of Things) device ID is a new requirement effective 2024.
-Loading
Transport using a single-axle short trailer. Position the loaded tank close to the cab or the center of the trailer frame. Loading must occur in an environment compliant with the GB 30000-2023 anti-static standard.
-Customs Declaration
Provide the Tank Certificate and Dangerous Goods Emergency Contact Code. For Shanghai port, additionally provide the cargo's molecular structural formula (2024 new regulation).
-Port Entry
Waigaoqiao (Outer Port): Enter port first, then customs declaration.
Yangshan: Customs declaration first, then enter port.
Class 8 Corrosives require 48-hour pre-arranged appointment for direct loading.
-Bill of Lading (B/L) Issuance
The House Bill of Lading (HBL) must specify the tank container return agent information. The Master Bill of Lading (MBL) must clearly indicate cargo ownership.
