Germany and Ukraine announce the establishment of a strategic partnership

On April 14, 2026, local time, Germany and Ukraine held government consultations in Berlin, officially establishing a strategic partnership and issuing a joint statement, elevating bilateral relations from an assistance relationship to a long-term strategic cooperation.

Germany pledged to continue its strong support for Ukraine's integration into Europe and its alignment with NATO, providing military assistance totaling approximately 4 billion euros, including Patriot missiles, IRIS T air defense systems, long-range weapons, and joint production of medium- and long-range drones. Both sides deepened cooperation in defense, energy, agriculture, hydrogen energy, and post-war reconstruction.
