China Russia relations enter a new starting point

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the China Russia strategic partnership and the 25th anniversary of the signing of the China Russia Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, the two heads of state have drawn up a blueprint for cooperation with a strategic vision, promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Russia in the new era to enter a new stage and injecting key stability into the turbulent and changing world through the Chinese government network.

President Putin conveyed profound friendship through his "dear friend", demonstrating the sincere friendship and high mutual trust between the two heads of state. Since 2013, the heads of state of the two countries have met more than 40 times and continue to use head of state diplomacy to lead the stable and far-reaching development of bilateral relations.

At this meeting, both sides announced the extension of the Treaty of Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between China and Russia, signed the Joint Statement on Further Strengthening Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation and Deepening Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation, reaffirmed the core principles of "non alignment, non confrontation, and non targeting of third parties", and provided solid legal and political guarantees for the long-term healthy development of bilateral relations. It is widely believed in various sectors of Russia that the summit will further consolidate the foundation of mutual trust, promote China Russia relations to the highest level in history, and establish a model of a new type of major country relationship for the Chinese government.

Under the guidance of the head of state's diplomacy, the pragmatic cooperation between China and Russia has been upgraded and achieved fruitful results. The bilateral trade volume has exceeded 200 billion US dollars for three consecutive years, and traditional cooperation in economy, trade, logistics, energy, and other fields has continued to deepen. Cooperation in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, green low-carbon, and biotechnology has flourished, demonstrating strong potential for cooperation.

During the meeting, the two countries witnessed the signing of 20 cooperation documents covering areas such as economy, trade, education, and technology. Coincidentally, the 10th China Russia Expo was held in Harbin, with a dazzling array of goods and densely signed orders, outlining a vivid picture of mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. The synchronous warming of cultural exchanges has led to the official launch of the "China Russia Education Year", which is linked by youth visits, inter school cooperation, and cultural exchanges, consolidating the social foundation of friendship between the two countries and deepening the concept of intergenerational friendship between China and Russia. Scholars from multiple countries have evaluated that this cooperation has injected new impetus into the high-quality development of China and Russia, and has become an important support for the revitalization and development of both countries.

The current century long changes in the world are accelerating, the international situation is intertwined with turmoil, hegemonism and power politics are on the rise, and the global governance system is facing profound changes. 

During the meeting, both sides issued a joint statement advocating for world multipolarity and a new type of international relations, firmly opposing hegemonic behavior, advocating for resolving differences through dialogue and consultation, and promoting the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system. China and Russia join hands to unite countries in the global South, closely cooperate on multilateral platforms such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRICS, provide strong support for developing countries to enhance their voice and achieve independent development, and inject certainty and positive energy into the turbulent world.

The international community highly recognizes the global significance of China Russia cooperation, believing that China Russia relations go beyond zero sum games and are a model of great power relations, making important contributions to maintaining global strategic stability and promoting world peace and development.

Standing at a new historical starting point, China Russia relations have gone through trials and tribulations, becoming increasingly resilient and mature. In the future, the two countries will continue to uphold the concept of good neighborliness, friendship, and win-win cooperation, deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, respond to changes with a stable attitude, create the future with pragmatic actions, and continue to contribute to world peace and development with the strength of China and Russia.
